ahaha I just finished watching Gangs of New York too and was thinking to myself how awesome a villain the Butcher was.

I'm not sure if he has the same...finesse as Orlock, but the sadism seems to be there. I can see someone more intellectual and sleek like Luke Goss or if you want older and creepier, Willem Defoe. Hey he already has practice playing a vamp, right?XD

Daniel is actually an English fellow and has more finesse than one would think if you look him up on say Youtube or something, which is why so far I think he could do it, especially if he could lower his voice to the right pitch. He just put on a VERY good and gruff old-New Yorker persona.

But of course that's not set in stone, I'd have to see it, and I doubt a VP movie would actually be made. (But I can daydream. XD)

Augh, Luke Goss played one of the few nearly full "grayscale" guys on screen. I haven't seen the new Hellboy, but yes, that did freak me out how similar he looked to Orlock. Damn you Del Toro for stealing my future makeup ideas!
